THE GAP between the First and the Third Worlds will widen further. The First World will be rich and highly regulated; the Third World will be poor and veering towards anarchy
THE FIRST World will fail to achieve real co-operation in controlling disease, crime and population and in safeguarding the environment THE RICH and educated will continue to drift away from organised religion. Interest will grow in spirituality, but organised religion will continue to be a powerful force in the lives of the poor THE US will become reluctant to play world policeman but, with the resulting disasters costing American lives, will return to this role
