Signs of the times
36.05.46: THE CHILDREN'S television programme FunDay Live! has buried a time
capsule in the grounds of the ST-TV broadcast centre.
The programme hopes that the capsule contains the definitive objects of the 2040s. Its contents
include:
Sony mind-control equipment, which allows viewers to call up their
desired programme simply by thinking of it
Babel in-ear computer, which simultaneously translates more than 100 of the world's most common languages
Iridescent spray-on fashion colours sourced from butterflies
Bottle of first-growth turnip wine, poised to overtake claret as the
French wine of choice
CKP, Calvin Klein's responsive day suit, the fashion success of the
decade so far, with automatic temperature control
Speech-to-print contact lenses, which create valuable work and
social opportunities for the deaf
Snapper Clene, the drink that has changed the way we clean our teeth
A video postcard sent back from Mars SC
