To suit a modern man

25.09.07
SIR PAUL SMITH'S latest menswear collection promises a return to the giddy days of the late 1990s.
Called the New Orthodoxy, the collection incorporates many technological flourishes - self-cleaning shirts, temperature-changing fabrics, TV display glasses, videophone cuff links and voice-recognition credit-card wallets - yet the designs are reminiscent of Savile Row tailoring.
"It's a return to traditionalism," said the 61-year-old designer, "a return to the days when men looked like men, not circus clowns." JB
