Our Official Sponsors and Partners have been working hard to develop National Programmes that enable everyone in the UK to make a difference and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Marks and Spencer Children's Promise is a fundraising initiative which will enable everyone in the UK to create a better future for the children of the next millennium. Everyone in the UK is being asked to donate their final hour's earnings of this millennium to the children of the next.

Manpower National Skills Festival 2000 is designed to inspire young people by giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a public arena and compete against the best in their region, the UK and the world. Together with UK SKILLS and The Prince's Trust, Manpower is committed to raising the profile and standards of skills throughout the UK.

In addition to our sponsors National Programme of events, we are also co-ordinating the Millennium Festival – a £100m programme of grass roots projects and events to mark the millennium and leave lasting benefits.

Anyone in the UK can apply for funding to get involved in the Millennium Festival. The money is coming from the 11 lottery distributors of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and over £40m has already been paid out to get some of the larger projects off the ground. Awards of up to £5000 will be made within the next few weeks.

Part of the Millennium Festival, the Millennium Youth Games is the world's largest sporting event for young people.

It is being staged by BAA plc, along with the English Sports Council and local authorities. Over 300,000 under thirteens and under fifteens are competing in regional heats, building up to a Grand Final in the year 2000.
